- New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell (NY)
- Montefiore (New York, NY)
- Cleveland Clinic (OH)
- University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI)
- Johns Hopkins (Baltimore)
The list, as published in the magazine, has an additional 20 large teaching hospitals, as well as counts of the number of residents and interns, the medical school affiliation of the hospitals, and the annual patient discharges.
