NURSE STAFFING RATIOS: No significant, widespread improvements in patient outcomes found

This literature review summarizes the findings of studies about the impact of California’s mandated nurse-to-patient ratios on patient outcomes.  The review did not find significant or widespread improvements in patient outcomes.  Overall, this 3-part series found the data about the impact of the California nurse staffing ratios to be inconclusive.
