AHA’s Health Research and Educational Trust has just released a series of 10 evidence-based checklists for improving patient safety in these areas:
- Adverse drug effects
- Catheter-associated urinary tract infections
- Central line-associated blood stream infections
- Early elective deliveries [Cesarean]
- Injuries from falls and immobility
- Hospital-acquired pressure ulcers
- Preventable readmissions
- Surgical site infections
- Ventilator-associated pneumonias and events
- Venous thromboembolisms
