DIVERSITY: Minorities represent 14% of hospital C-suite

Here is benchmarking data from the Institute for Diversity in Health Management showing growth in the percent of minority representation in hospital top leadership (C-suite) positions:

  • 14%  2012
  •   9%  2011
  •   2%  1994

Taking a more granular look at the 2012 data by position, here is the minority representation:

  • 60% Chief diversity officers
  • 16% Chief medical officers
  • 14% Chief HR officers
  • 14% Chief operating officers
  • 10% Chief nursing officers
  •   9% Chief executive officers
  •   7% Chief financial officers
