How Mayo Clinic improved patient transport scheduling

In Rochester, MN, Mayo Clinic has a volume of between 7,000 to 9,000 requests for patient transport per month.  This case study article discusses Mayo Clinic’s Patient Transport System database and how a scheduling tool was developed.  Implementation of the new scheduling system resulted in a reduction in the number of patient transport staff by 2 FTEs.
