Salary surveys: Hospital execs 2011 compensation data

The average total cash compensation was found to be $601,800 for CEOs of freestanding hospitals and $435,200 for CEOs of system hospitals, according to the 2011 Modern Healthcare Executive Compensation Survey.  This survey gives national median and average findings for total cash compensation for a range of other hospital executives as well.

Why I like this article: The data collection was done by Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, a well-known source of compensation data.  Also, I like that it differentiates between executives in freestanding versus system-affiliated hospitals.
