Salary surveys: Hospital CFO mean compensation $209k

The average compensation for chief financial officers at hospitals was $208,800 in 2011, according to this compensation survey conducted every other year by the Healthcare Financial Management Association.  As one might expect, compensation was found to increase with the bed size of the hospital, ranging from an average compensation of about $115k for CFOs in the smallest hospitals to an average of over $330k for CEOs in the largest hospitals.  Likewise, CFOs of health systems are paid more than those in hospitals.
