Salary surveys: Supply chain compensation up nearly 5%

The mean salary for directors of materials management in the health care field was just under $82,000, according to this 2011 salary survey conducted by the magazine Healthcare Purchasing News; and, there was a large discrepancy between men and women holding this position (roughly $89,000 versus $68,000).  The average salary increase for all supply chain related positions was almost 5 percent in 2011.  Average compensation is given for other positions.  Another interesting fact gleaned from this survey:

  • Hospital materials management departments have about 14 employees (average)
