Salary surveys: Hospital CEO mean salary $452,400 in 2010

Hospital executives can expect salary increases to level off at 2.5 to 3 percent over the next few years, but incentive awards will increase, according to this roundtable article based on comments from compensation experts.  Most hospitals and health systems offer executive incentives; the average for a CEO of a not-for-profit hospital is $335,300, according to the 2010 Hay Group Healthcare Survey, quoted in this article.  Sign-on bonuses in the range of $5,000 to $10,000 and relocation packages between $3,000 and $10,000 will become more common.  The print version of this article shows a 6-year trend (2005 to 2010)  in CEO and CFO average and median salary.
