Salary survey: central service 2011 US average nearly $54k

Central service salaries vary significantly by type of facility — with the highest salary paid by group practices (averaging nearly $114,000) and the lowest by long term care facilities / home health (averaging under $23,000) according to this compensation survey conducted by Healthcare Purchasing News magazine.  This 2011 survey was completed by 382 respondents.  Standalone hospital central service personnel reported an average of just over $51,000.  Central service directors averaged $87,500, while surgical instrument technicians averaged just under $34,000.

What I like about this article:  Salary surveys are always in demand.
