World health statistics

The World Health Organization reports annually on health-related data for its 193 member states. Among the data in the 2011 edition:

  • Life expectancy, mortality, and morbidity
  • Selected infectious diseases
  • Health risk factors
  • Health care workforce, including physicians per 10,000 population
  • Demographic and socioeconomic data
  • Hospital beds per 10,000 population
  • Health expenditures
