SERVICE LINE MODEL: 10 questions to consider

The service line model idea has been around for a long time, but is being considered with renewed interest as a way to coordinate services across the entire continuum of care, not just at the hospital.  In this brief article, consultants from The Camden Group identify barriers to service line success, formulate 10 questions to address before adopting a service line model, and describe characteristics of these approaches to structuring a service line approach:

  • Medical director
  • Dyad management
  • Specialty co-management
  • Physician advisory councils
  • Specialty institutes
